About Camp Chaverim

Camp Chaverim was established in the summer of 2000 by Camp Director Vicky Shizgal, in response to the growing demand for an Orthodox day camp in the Côte St Luc/ Hampstead area.

Located at the Beth Israel Beth Aaron Synagogue, the camp is surrounded by massive green space, ideal for outdoor activities. Our indoor, air-conditioned facility provides campers with reprieve from the summer heat, as well as rain. Campers join us from various schools city-wide and countries world-wide. Last summer we were proud to welcome campers from Israel, Belgium, Halifax, Guadalupe, Florida and New York
.
Meal Plan

We are pleased to offer a choice of meals, at an additional charge of $5.00per day. Our peanut-free, kid-friendly menu is sure to be a hit with your children. Menu to come at a later date.

Our Goals

In Hebrew the word Chaverim means friends. Summer is a time to create everlasting memories and friendships. The warm atmosphere that surrounds the campers of Camp Chaverim is unparalleled. We guarantee that your child will experience hours of fun and excitement and will leave camp this summer having made true CHAVERIM.

Camp Chaverim has 3 main goals:
providing safety, a religious environment and quality programming.

Safety

We take the safety and security of your precious children very seriously. All activities take place in secure surroundings with the proper guidance at all times. Our staff/camper ratio is impressive and provides constant individual attention. Due to increased cases of peanut allergy, Camp Chaverim is strictly peanut-free. As an additional precaution, all Camp staff are trained in the use of an epipen.

Programming

We offer a wide array of quality programming led by professionals in their field. All programs are chosen by educators to suit the needs of the various age groups. Each session is filled with exciting activities in sports, swimming (with lifeguards) at Nautilus Plus, science, baking, drama, arts and crafts and tons more. The campers experience fun through weekly theme days and bi-weekly outings. All trips are age appropriate and chosen with great attention to the safety and amusementof our campers.

Religious Environment

Camp Chaverim offers a religious experience for all of its campers on a daily basis. We begin our day with tefillah, and incorporate daily learning with the staff of Kollel Torah Mitzion. Brachot, Shabbat parties and special theme days are all offered to enhance the children’s love of Torah and mitzvot. Our staff acts as important role models for your children and help create a fun and torah appropriate atmosphere.
